Infographics relate to a symbol which symbolizes an action or multiple optiob/things that make it easy to understand what message it sends out at first glance. It relates to and originates from data visualizations. Infographics are often used in the enterprise like in mangement in presentations having grahics like bar graphs,pie charts, histograms and etc.,.  
In the world of design, infographics are very important in the way  that they help symbolize the action or purpose of options or describing things easily in such places like Adobe illustrator.
